ഇന്ത്യൻ നാവികസേനയുടെ ഫ്രണ്ട്‌ലൈൻ ഗൈഡഡ് മിസൈൽ ഡിസ്ട്രോയർ, INS കൊച്ചി മാലിദ്വീപിൽ എത്തി

ഇന്ത്യൻ നാവികസേനയുടെ ഫ്രണ്ട്‌ലൈൻ ഗൈഡഡ് മിസൈൽ ഡിസ്ട്രോയർ, INS കൊച്ചി മാലിദ്വീപിൽ എത്തി.  INS കൊച്ചിയുടെ സന്ദർശനം ഇന്ത്യയും മാലിദ്വീപും തമ്മിലുള്ള ശക്തമായ സമുദ്ര ബന്ധങ്ങളെ എടുത്തുകാണിക്കുകയും മേഖലയിലെ സുരക്ഷ, സമാധാനം, നാവിഗേഷൻ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം എന്നിവയോടുള്ള ഇന്ത്യൻ നാവികസേനയുടെ പ്രതിബദ്ധതയെ ഊന്നിപ്പറയുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. 

ഇരു രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെയും സൗഹൃദ ബന്ധങ്ങൾക്ക് അനുസൃതമായി, മാലദ്വീപ് അധികൃതർ കപ്പലിനെ ഊഷ്മളമായി സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്തു.  കപ്പലിന്റെ സന്ദർശനത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി, ഐഎൻഎസ് കൊച്ചി കമാൻഡിംഗ് ഓഫീസർ ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ മഹേഷ് സി മൗദ്ഗിൽ, എംഎൻഡിഎഫിലെ പ്രതിരോധ സേനാ മേധാവി മേജർ ജനറൽ ഇബ്രാഹിം ഹിൽമിയെയും കോസ്റ്റ്ഗാർഡ്എംഎൻഡിഎഫിലെ കമാൻഡന്റ് ബ്രിഗേഡിയർ ജനറൽ മുഹമ്മദ് സലീമിനെയും സന്ദർശിച്ചു.

കപ്പൽ തുറമുഖത്ത് തങ്ങുന്ന സമയത്ത്, ഇന്ത്യൻ നേവിയും എംഎൻഡിഎഫും തമ്മിൽ ഉഭയകക്ഷി കൂടിക്കാഴ്ചകൾ, ക്രോസ്-ഡെക്ക് സന്ദർശനങ്ങൾ, കായിക മത്സരങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ആസൂത്രണം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

2015 സെപ്റ്റംബർ 30 ന് കമ്മീഷൻ ചെയ്ത ഐഎൻഎസ് കൊച്ചി, ഡബ്ല്യുഎൻസിയുടെ കീഴിൽ മുംബൈ ആസ്ഥാനമായുള്ള ഇന്ത്യൻ നാവികസേനയുടെ വെസ്റ്റേൺ ഫ്ലീറ്റിന്റെ ഭാഗമാണ്.

Indian Navy's frontline Guided Missile Destroyer, INS Kochi, arrived at Male, Maldives.  INS Kochi's visit highlights the strong maritime links between India and the Maldives and emphasises the Indian Navy's commitment to security, peace and freedom of navigation in the region. In keeping with the two nations' friendly relations, Maldivian authorities warmly welcomed the ship. As part of the ship’s visit, Captain Mahesh C Moudgil, Commanding Officer, INS Kochi, called on Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, Chief of Defence Force, MNDF and Brigadier General Mohammed Saleem, Commandant, CoastGuard MNDF.

During the ship’s stay in harbour, bilateral meetings, cross-deck visits and sports fixtures have been planned between IndianNavy and the MNDF.INS Kochi was commissioned on 30 September 2015 and is part of the Indian Navy's Western Fleet, which is based in Mumbai under the WNC.
