UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar may get Rs 14 crore compensation from Pakistan govt



A compensation announcement made by Pakistan’s government may end up paying Rs 14 crore to Masood Azhar, who is a UN-designated terrorist and chief of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). As per the reports, around 14 family members of Azhar were killed in a recent strike by the Indian military.

Compensation announcement by Pak’s PMShehbaz Sharif, who is the incumbent PM of Pakistan, has announced comprehensive support and a compensation of Rs 1 crore per deceased for the legal heirs of people killed in the strike. The airstrikes by India under Operation Sindoor targeted terror camps in Bahawalpur, which is an operational hub of the JeM. The city houses the JeM headquarters at Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah, also known as the Usman-o-Ali campus.
According to media reports, the deceased included the elder sister and her husband,  a nephew and his wife, a niece and five children from his extended family. In such a scenario, Azhar could now be entitled to Rs 1 crore each for the 14 family members killed, which equals Rs 14 crore.
