14-Year-Old Tamil Nadu Student Smashes World Record for Fastest Pillow Covering

VADAKKANKULAM – In a remarkable display of speed, precision, and youthful ambition, 14-year-old Harish Saathaiah has officially entered the history books by setting a new Guinness World Record. A 10th-standard student at S.A.V. Balakrishna Senior Secondary School, Harish successfully covered three pillows in a staggering 20.08 seconds, surpassing previous global benchmarks for the Under-16 category. The event, which took place on 11 April 2025, saw the local community and school faculty gather to witness a feat of dexterity that required months of rigorous practice
The son of C. Rajagopal and R. Jeyanthi, Harish’s journey to the record books was driven by a deep-seated desire for personal excellence and a wish to bring pride to his family and hometown. His parents expressed immense pride in their son’s discipline and focus. The record-breaking attempt was meticulously organized under the expert guidance of Master Guinness Abdul Halim, who served as the event coordinator, while technical assistance was provided by Guinness Sunil Joseph to ensure the attempt met all international standards.

Observers noted that Harish’s technique involved a fluid, rhythmic motion that minimized wasted energy, allowing him to slide the cases onto the pillows with lightning speed. Beyond the physical challenge, he maintained a high level of academic focus, balancing his intense training sessions with his demanding 10th-grade curriculum. His achievement has sparked a wave of inspiration across the region, proving that with enough dedication, even the most unique personal goals are within reach. The school administration plans to honor Harish in a special assembly to celebrate this extraordinary milestone.
